beginning Friday Oct 1, and continuing through Saturday and possibly Sunday the 3rd, we have undertaken a project of cataloging and mapping the historic structures (the purposes of which is still to be defined) at the Taos Junction Bridge in Pilar. To get to the site, continue past the bridge north (don't cross over the river), go past the Camp Host campground, and bear north east along the road. Turn right at the first road to your right, and park at the bottom of the small mesa. We will be working on top, at the south end of the mesa. We would love to have as many volunteers as we can get for this project--it is a substantial undertaking, and should be interesting and informative. Be sure to bring plenty of water, pack a lunch, and wear a hat and boots. We will probably work until late afternoon Friday and Saturday. If it extends into Sunday, we should be finished by about noon. Saturday night we will have a pot luck supper, so plan to attend if you can. Several persons are camping at a few of the campgrounds as well. Hope to see you there!
