I plan on being at the Orilla Verde Petroglyph Site at sunrise on Spring Equinox, Saturday March 20th, that Carmen and I observed at sunrise on winter solstice. I would be delighted to have company. The sun should rise at 6:06 am in Taos MST, which when we spring forward should be 7:06 am MDT? If we leave the KTAO Parking lot at the Old Blinking Light at 7 am that should get us to the site at Orilla Verde in ample time to see sunrise. Right now the prediction is for "mostly cloudy" so there is a chance of seeing the sun cast shadows. If weather permits I would also like to scramble up the talus and see if we can determine where the "shadow caster" was on winter solstice. Please let me know if you plan to accompany me by return e-mail (markscotthenderson@netzero.com) or by phone (575-758-3192 land line; 702-250-6512 cell). I expect we will be back to our meeting place at the OBL by noon, but bring snacks, water, warm and rain-resistant clothes and good hiking shoes anyhow. I can take 4 passengers, if you are willing to drive your own vehicle, let me know in case we have more than four who want to go. Also if the weather is clearly funky on Saturday morning and you decide not to show up for any reason, please give me a call or I will try to call you between 6 and 6:30 am. Hope some others want to join me. - Mark

Gary- I was hoping you would be available to try again. At this point there only three of us, so unless that changes we can all fit in my truck. If not sooner we can confirm arrangements on Friday. - Mark
