  • 11 May 2013
  • Velarde, New Mexico
Hike the trails of the Mesa Prieta Petroglyph preserve with docents from Taos!  See spectacular glyphs from archaic through modern times!

We will leave the BLM-Taos parking lot at 8:30 AM on Saturday, May 11,  for directions and carpooling,  and finish our hike in the early afternoon. Participants may bring their lunch and picnic at the preserve.

To get a preview, go to :  www.mesaprietapetroglyphs.org
and click on tours.  Trails vary in difficulty from smooth ascents and descents to scrambling.  Boots and hiking sticks are recommended, as well as water, sunscreen, and binoculars.
See website for rules on photography.

We will collect $25 from each participant.  This is the standard fee for tours and goes to cover the educational programs conducted by Mesa Prieta--many of which have benefitted Taos youth.

To register and/or obtain more information,  please email Chris Riveles at ckriveles@gmail.com or call 575-776-1005.  The group will be limited in size, so you must register in advance.
