Deadlines: Please sign up now so that I can send out a notification to participants so that they can start planning carpooling, accommodations, etc.
VERY IMPORTANT: people have to receive security clearances to visit White Sands missile base a month before the site visit so I will be contacting trip participants for this information. Right now we have thirteen people enrolled.
Changes in itinerary: Lay Powell, who did a fantastic job last month guiding us to rock art sites in the Ruidoso/3 Rivers areas, will be joining us to add rock art site visits while we are in Truth or Consequences and in Glenwood.
Accommodations: Oct 16 and 17, instead of Glenwood, we will stay in Silver City and travel to Glenwood. There are very few accommodations, either motel or camping in Glenwood, and Silver City is relatively close by. I will stay at Bear Creek Lodge, in Pinos Altos, just outside of Silver City. Truth or Consequences has oodles of motels with hot springs. If you want to stay at Riverbend, where I stay, DON'T tell them you are with TAS. If you want to stay at Firewater mention Lay Powell's name. People may also camp at Elephant Butte. Las Cruces remains a work in progress. Recommendations appreciated!
